A re-build was on the cards for a while and, all in all, it's taken a few months to get this site up and running.
Initially I had planned a php based site, my old one was asp, I've wanted to learn php for a while now and I still do. However, after seeing David Heinemeier Hansson (Ruby on Rails creator) speak at the Carson Workshops Summit I was convinced to learn Ruby on Rails and build my site in it.
In anticipation of the php build i'd switched hosts to Bluehost whom I found via the Wordpress recommended hosts. Luckily for me, Bluehost introduced Ruby on Rails support last month.
I'm really pleased with the final result and it's by no means finished. One of the first things I want to get running is an RSS feed.

Note that I am now hosting with hostingrails.com and not Bluehost.
